Transmission
Take care of leaks and cooling concerns.
Our transmission services include resealing, transmission coolers and adjustments. If you notice fluid under your vehicle or changes in shifting, contact our Porter shop.
Give us a call before driving with a suspected transmission fluid leak. We can discuss the symptoms and help arrange an inspection or towing when needed.
Find the source before deciding on a reseal.
A spot under the vehicle is a reason to investigate, not a diagnosis on its own. Note where you parked, when you first saw the fluid and whether the amount is changing. A photograph of the spot can help you describe it without reaching beneath the vehicle or touching an unfamiliar fluid.
Here at our shop, transmission resealing is part of our total transmission care. Resealing addresses a leak; it does not automatically correct internal wear that may also be affecting the way the transmission operates. Tell us about both the leak and any shifting change.
Discuss cooler service and how you use the vehicle.
Transmission fluid serves a different system from engine coolant. A concern involving a transmission cooler is therefore not the same request as an engine radiator or water-pump repair. If you are unsure which system is involved, describe the warning or visible leak instead of guessing the failed part.
- Has the transmission recently been serviced or repaired?
- Does the concern appear on a short drive or after a longer trip?
- Do you tow, carry loads or have vehicle modifications?
- Are you also noticing delayed engagement or slipping?
Get guidance before adding fluid.
Fluid specifications and checking procedures vary by vehicle. Follow the owner’s manual rather than adding a universal product or treating a top-up as a repair. Our team can discuss a visit to the Porter shop. If the vehicle is losing drive, leaking heavily or displaying an overheating warning, stop safely and arrange assistance.

Transmission Reseal & Cooler Service: common questions
Will resealing fix a transmission that also slips?
Resealing addresses a leak, but it does not automatically repair internal wear. Report the leak and shifting symptoms together so the team can discuss whether other transmission work is needed.
Is a transmission cooler the same as the engine cooling system?
No. Transmission fluid and engine coolant serve different systems, although components may be connected through heat-exchange equipment. Describe the visible leak or warning and let inspection establish the source.
